Hello friends! I'm Zero - The Hubbards adopted me in September of 2017 from the nice people of Namaste Akita Rescue. I was abandoned by my previous family in Placerville, CA. The animal control caught me and took me to the shelter. They called my family, but they didn’t want me anymore. That’s when the rescue was contacted and they came and pulled me from the shelter. I don’t like to think about my past and I don’t have to anymore.
I’ll never forget the day the Hubbards came to meet me at a pet adoption street fair in San Francisco. They brought my sister-to-be, Steady to meet me and see how we liked each other. When I first laid eyes on her and the Hubbards, it was love at first sight. I gave Steady kisses and she kissed me back. I knew they were the family for me and they instantly felt the same about me! I love my new life. My mom is a professional pet groomer so she keeps me and Steady clean and looking our best. We have many fun adventures together including going to Lake Tahoe for hiking and fishing, going to Napa to wineries and out to eat at dog friendly restaurants. I also love playing with Steady and going for our daily walks together.
Steady has lived with the Hubbards since 2013 when she retired from her show dog career at Mojo Akitas. She told me she was excited to come live with her Uncle Zeus and they had many fun adventures together for 4 ½ years. Then one day Zeus was ready to cross the rainbow bridge and he said his good byes. Steady and the Hubbards were very sad to lose him and Steady told me she was depressed after Zeus passed. She was lonely and wanted another Akita family member to have adventures with her. Then she heard the great news about coming to meet me. She was so excited when the day came and I joined the Hubbard family. We love each other so much!
I am so blessed to have such a loving family now. It’s all because of Akita Rescue. That’s why we decided to participate in Whisker Walk time to support BEAR for the second . We want to help other Akita’s in need by raising funds for Big East Akita Rescue so other pups like myself can get the care they need and be able to find their forever families.
Please consider a donation to our team to help us reach our fundraising goal of $1000. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for rescue. We are excited at this opportunity to help!
