Team Abel & Misses Meeks Whisker Walk 2025

This may be Misses Meeks’ final walk. At 13 years old, she’s living with diabetes, blindness, and now arthritis — but her heart is still full of love and purpose. This year, she’ll be walking proudly beside Abel and Ginny Gin to help raise funds for Big East Akita Rescue (B.E.A.R.), an organization very close to our hearts.

We walk in memory of those we’ve lost along the way — Nina Ann, Gentle Jacob, sweet Sasha, and our original mascot, Cain. They all loved being part of this event and are still with us in spirit.

Abel, a gentle and loyal Akita, walks for those still waiting in rescue. Misses Meeks walks to show that love and determination know no limits. And Ginny Gin, our spirited Collie mix, will lead us across the finish line with her sunshine energy.

We’re walking to raise funds and awareness for Big East Akita Rescue (B.E.A.R.), an organization that gives Akitas the safety, care, and second chances they deserve.
